Ireland’s Boyne Valley has an historic tradition of craft and music and now as part of Ireland’s Ancient East it is firmly on the map more than ever internationally with a deeper understanding of what this region really represents.

Recent new archaeological finds plus the decision to host the Fleadh at Drogheda have ensured that the region is hitting the headlines in the most positive of ways.

Rings from Ireland is one of the oldest online jewelers in Ireland, selling internationally online since 1998. The company is located near Newgrange in Ireland’s beautiful Boyne Valley. At Rings from Ireland, all of the rings are Irish and made by the most talented and trained regional craftsmen.

The Claddagh ring is at the center of all jewelry collections at Rings from Ireland. When you acquire a Claddagh ring from Rings from Ireland you’re getting a shining piece of Irish heritage and genuine Irish quality. Every piece of jewelry sold by Rings from Ireland features the 400 year old customer protection seal of the world-famous hallmark of the Assays Office at Dublin Castle.

At the mouth of the majestic River Boyne, Drogheda is perfectly positioned to host this wonderful celebration of Irish traditional music. Not only has Drogheda Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann succeeded in bringing the Fleadh to the Boyne Valley for the first time, it has also secured its return for 2019!

The wonderful musical traditions of the area are perhaps best shown off in the Fleadh Traditional Showcase, which takes place in a gala opening concert on Sunday August 12th at 8pm in the Crescent Theater.

The very best of talent from the North East region will feature including sean-nós dancer Sibéal Davitt, celebrated fiddle player Gerry O'Connor, Ulaid; John McSherry, Dónal O’Connor and Seán Óg Graham, Drogheda’s folk/trad trio- Kern, banjo-player Stevie Dunne and many more.

Drogheda is situated at the southern end of the ancient kingdom of Oriel stretching northwards across borders and boundaries to Armagh. Songs, tunes and harp music from Oriel spans the rich repertoire of traditional music handed down orally for generations and many of these songs and tunes will be celebrated at this year’s Fleadh.

From craft to music, the Boyne Valley is truly the destination of the moment for those that are keen to celebrate the best of Irish craft and culture.
