Saint Brigid is one of Ireland’s patron saints, along with Saint Patrick and Saint Columba. This unique necklace is a tribute to this female saint. Like Saint Patrick and the shamrock, Brigid made this interesting cross famous and it is now one of the most well-recognized symbols of Ireland. The small cross was usually woven from rushes and typically it had four arms tied at the ends and a woven square in the middle. The crosses were traditionally made in Ireland on Saint Brigid’s feast day, 1st February. This solid sterling silver honors this special Irish tradition.
