The name Livia refers to the River Liffey that flows through Ireland’s capital city, Dublin. James Joyce acknowledges the Liffey with one of his much loved characters, Anna Livia in the novel 'Finnegan’s Wake', and there was even a monument commissioned and placed in the heart of the city in O'Connell Street that was inspired by this character.
