The town of Kells, County Meath is a highlight of Ireland’s historic Boyne Valley in Ireland’s Ancient East. This beautiful place is of deep historical and religious significance and Kells Monastery includes a number of High Crosses. The famous Book of Kells was completed at the monastery, which also features a round tower. The South Cross, or the Cross of Saint Patrick and Saint Columba, is closest to the round tower and thought to be the earliest of the Kells crosses. Standing 3.3 meters high, it is carved from a single block of sandstone and this necklace is a beautiful representation of that Celtic icon.
