World Heritage Site Newgrange is a 5,200 year old passage tomb located in the Boyne Valley in Ireland’s Ancient East, close to the headquarters of Rings from Ireland. This location is of worldwide importance. It’s best known for its illumination of the passage and chamber by the winter solstice sun and its accuracy of time-telling. When one considers that it was built 500 years before the Great Pyramids and more than 1,000 years before Stonehenge, its importance comes in to scale.

The spirals at the entrance which are showcased in this stunning Newgrange Spiral White Gold Ring
rotate clockwise on the way to the center and anti-clockwise moving away from the center, a kind of ancient Irish version of the Yin Yang. There is much speculation on the meaning of this stone and one is that the spirals represent a visual of the site with the three huge cairns, the spirals on the right represent some of the smaller mounds and the wavy lines at the bottom represent the River Boyne. This is a beautiful ring which will certainly attract attention as it depicts the best of Irish craft and history.
