This traditional silver Tara brooch is a piece of jewelry for somebody that will truly want to make an impact and wear their Irish and Celtic heritage with pride. In solid sterling silver, this is a replica of one of Ireland’s biggest treasures. Along with treasures such as the Ardagh Chalice and the Derrynaflan Paten, the Tara brooch can be seen at the National Museum of Ireland. It was found not in Tara but near the seashore at Bettystown, County Meath and is a beautiful representation of early medieval Irish metalworkers’ achievement.

The brooch is ornamented with both animal and abstract motifs including scrolls and triple spirals recalling the La Tene decoration of the Iron age. The brooch is considered to be priceless as the range of technique represented on such a small object is astounding. This representation of the brooch in traditional silver is a way of keeping history and craft alive by recreating a treasure from the ancient Irish past. It’s not surprising that it’s one of the most celebrated of all works of Celtic art.
