The Tara brooch is one of Ireland’s most celebrated works of Celtic art. It can be viewed at the National Museum of Ireland along with many treasures that were discovered unexpectedly and proved to be priceless finds. This traditional large silver Tara brooch is a beautiful and evocative way to wear Irish history and heritage and celebrate the best of design.

The Tara brooch was made between 710 to 750 AD and was found in 1850 in County Meath and is described as representing “the pinnacle of early medieval Irish metalworkers’ achievement’. The level of detail on this brooch executed perfectly on such a small object is why it is so treasured in Ireland and worldwide as one of the best surviving masterpieces of Celtic metalwork art.
